How to change the way your touchpad works

You can press the touchpad to click or change the direction of scrolling. To do this, do the following:

    1. In the bottom right corner, select the time.
    2. Select Settings Setting.
    3. In the “Device” section, select Touchpad (or Touchpad and mouse ).

To change the way your touchpad works, follow these steps:

Turn the “tap to click” feature on or off.
Activate the “press and drag” function.
    Enable or disable touchpad acceleration.
If you’re using a mouse, change the primary button.
Adjust pointer speed: Move the sliders next to “Touchpad Speed” or “Mouse Speed.”
Choose scroll type: Reverse scroll off (swipe up to scroll page up). Reverse scrolling on (swipe up to scroll page down).

    How to fix touchpad issues

If the touchpad stops working, follow these steps:

Make sure there is no dust or dirt on the touch panel.
Press the Esc key several times.
Touch the touch panel repeatedly with your fingers for ten seconds.
Turn off the Chromebook and turn it back on.
    Factory reset .
If you have more than one account on your Chromebook, delete the one with touchpad issues. Then add it back.

It could be as simple as a dirty screen, settings, or software causing your Chromebook touchscreen to stop working. One of the great things about Chromebooks is that if all else fails, a powerwash will usually get things back on track. However, this is a last resort, so begin with the basics and work your way up.
